A friend of the Heiden's sent this |
This week has probably been the longest week so far. On
Tuesday I contracted pink eye somewhere and so we were out working all day and
I was miserable. So it only got worse over night so we called the mission nurse
and she told me to get some eye drops and then stay in the appt allllllllllllll
day. SOO BORING. I was so bored all day. I mean I love the scriptures and all
but you can only read for so many hours straight and then all the words start
to blend together and you get a head ache and then the day gets even worse.
Luckily one of our ward mission leaders is a doctor and when he heard of my
situation he had us over and took a look at my eye. The eye drops I had werent
doing anything. They were for allergies not for pink eye. He wrote me a prescription and got me some antibiotics. So the next day (Thursday) the
mission nurse told us to stay in again! AHHHHHH I was about to blow my brains
out. Try staying in a tiny apartment for all day without watching TV, movies,
books, video games, or basically anything fun. All you can do is read the
scriptures and eat. Yeah my diet kind of went to crap those two days. oh well.
Friday I finally got to go out and work which was heaven sent because my eye
was still itchy but there was no way I was staying in again. But over the
weekend all of our lessons cancelled. That sucked. But we made some good visits
and met a few people that might be interested in taking the lessons. So yeah
that was basically my week this week.
Since I don't have a lot to tell you about this week I will
report some things I learned from this past week.
1. Being sick without a mom sucks.
2. The only reason I would ever eat ice cream
is when I was bored
3. I don't mind doing laundry but I loathe folding it
Those are just 3 things I learned this week about life. It
sounds like the house is coming along well. Good to hear.
I love you all so much!!!

This week has been good. We have been doing some teaching
but could always use more. We had dinner with A. and she said she wants to
get baptized but has some hesitations because of her family. I don't know exactly
how to address that but we are going to keep meeting with her and make sure she
has a strong testimony and will ultimately have a strong testimony than the
fear she has from her family.
On Friday we went to this house to contact a guy we had
talked to on the street and his sister and her boyfriend answered the door.
They said the boy wasn't home but then asked us if our pastor could marry
people. We told them that bishop could marry and so they came to church with
their neighbors and met the bishop. They had a lot of questions and so hopefully
this week we can start teaching this young family.
B. has been doing great. Reading every day and coming
to church and scouts and everything. His mom has not been doing so well
health wise. She had another back procedure and is pretty much just on bed
rest. We haven't been able to teach her much this week because of that but she
is still reading and everything so that's good. Her dad, G., sounds a little
more interested than he was before so another hope is that we will be able to
start teaching him along with the rest of the family.
I would send you some pictures buuuuuuut i may have lost my
camera cord...... Sooooooo yeaaaaaahhhhh
So everything here is going well! I love the work down here
and everything!
Brother T, our stake high councilor (spell check) over
missionary work shared a good quote with us at dinner this week. "Are we
mortal beings having spiritual experiances, or are we spiritual beings having
mortal experiances?" I liked that alot.
Love you all!
